Upset brides seeking wedding photos are fed up with photographer’s excuses

Amateur video taken by a family friend is all Ashley Newton has to remember her wedding ceremony last August. The professional photographer she hired to shoot pictures has never delivered the photos.

"It was the most important day of my life," Newton said. "So it's pretty upsetting."

The photos were supposed to arrive by October, but now Newton said she can't even reach photographer Tanya Hite Snedden of Fall-N-Photography.

Newton is not the only upset bride.

FOX 4 Problem Solvers met with four women earlier this month who had all hired the same photographer. None had received their photos.

"It was excuse after excuse," said Chloe Farley. "She had a husband to take care of. Four kids to take care of. A house to take care of."

Amanda Middaugh said the photographer lashed out at her and the other brides when they inquired about their photos.

One bride even sent a demand letter from an attorney, but still no answer. The women really grew worried when they saw the photographer's business page on Facebook had been taken down. That's when they contacted FOX 4 Problem Solvers, hoping we could help or at least warn others about photographer Tanya Hite Snedden.

The women said they were surprised how Snedden was treating them because they considered her a friend. They had all gone to Belton High School together.

Newton said that even on her wedding day there were problems. Snedden stood front and center during much of the ceremony, blocking the view of the wedding. At one point, Snedden nudged the pastor out of the way, so she could get a shot of the bride and groom while they were exchanging vows.

You can even see Snedden in the wedding video moving the groom's hand during the ceremony so that she could get the shot she wanted.

But where are all those photos now?

At first we thought there might be hope in getting these brides the photos they paid for. While we were shooting the story, one of the brides got a call from her husband that their photos had arrived in the mail.

We then called Snedden about the photos of other three brides. We heard the same excuses she had given the brides, including that there had been a break-in at her home in Windsor and her camera had been stolen. She told us, however, that all the photos of the weddings were safely stored on a hard drive at her mother's home in Cass County. But she didn't know when she would be able to email them to the brides because she needs new tired for her car.

We gave her two weeks. But now nearly three weeks have passed and still not a single photo has arrived. That's why Tanya Hite Snedden of Fall-N-Photography is now an official member of the FOX 4 Problem Solver Hall of Shame.

The brides have now filed complaints with the Missouri Attorney General's office. FOX 4 Problem Solvers encourages anyone else with missing photos to do the same.
